I am somewhat appalled to realize that I didn’t write a blog post about either Page 34 or Page 35, especially considering that Page 34 is the splash page with the magic castle and the citymoon, and is maaaaaybe my absolute favorite page so far.

Seriously, when I’ve had a hard day at work, I just get online and look at that castle. It lifts my spirits.

I had lots of things I was going to say about that page, and about the following page, but, as I alluded to in the previous paragraph, there have been a lot of hard days at work lately. One of these days, though, I’ll tell you about the original inspiration for the castle, and some stuff such as that.

Page 31 is up and, after all these weeks, we’re back to the present day and get to see what our heroes are up to. And what they’re up to is walking. There’s lots of walking in Lord of the Rings, and that’s one of the best-loved stories of all time. I figure if I include enough walking this comic will really take off. Another 20 or 30 pages should really get the point across, right?

Maybe at some point they can sing songs, too.

Fortunately Sam does a great job drawing the walking, so she should do a great job depicting every yard of this journey. This is one of my favorite panels so far:
